Staffing & Ratios - Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charge Nurse:
- Days: Typically staffed by a regular ICU RN
- Nights: May be covered by house supervisor
- Charge nurse typically takes a smaller assignment and assists staff
- Nurse Aides: Present
- Respiratory Therapist (RT): Assigned 24/7 in ICU/PCU
- Monitor Techs: Present, but RNs must interpret strips
- Tele Monitors: Draeger
- Intensivist/Hospitalist Coverage: In-house 24/7 (MD & NP)

Certifications Required ?
Skills & Experience Required - Must Have:
- Level I or Level II trauma center experience
- Experience in hospitals with 300+ beds
- Preferred:
- CRRT (Prismaflex)
- Experience pulling sheaths
- Familiarity with titrating common ICU drips

Common Drips (Titration Required)- Pressors
- Sedation (e.g., Precedex)
- Anti-arrhythmics
- Other common ICU medications

Patient Population / Diagnoses - CRRT (Prismaflex), Rotaprone
- Targeted Temperature Management (Arctic Sun)
- Mass transfusions, MTP
- Frequent paralytics, Train of 4 monitoring
- ECMO (occasional)
- 24-hour EEG, EVD, LP drain
- Neurosurgical patients
- Trauma: MVAs, drownings, fractures, spinal injuries, tractor rollovers
- Sepsis, DKA, post-surgical recovery, COVID
- Post-heart cath (including sheath pulls)
- SI (suicidal ideation), organ procurement (no transplants)
- Bedside procedures: Trachs, chest tubes, bronchoscopies, art lines

Scheduling - Shifts: 3x12s (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
- Self-Scheduling: Yes, but block scheduling not guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Sat & Sun)
- Holiday Rotation: Required, with core staff
- Call/Standby: None

Orientation - Day 1: 12–14 hours (general orientation, computer modules, competencies)
- Unit Orientation: One 12-hour shift on unit and shift of hire

Floating - Rare, but may float as "help all"
