Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Location: Oregon City, OR 97045 (Portland metro area)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
  • Setting: OB Acute / LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 labor, 1:3 postpartum
  • Floating: Required within hospital and to affiliate facilities (Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, Saint Vincent)
  • Weekend Coverage: Required (every other or every third weekend)
  • On-Call: 1 low census shift per pay period
  • Parking: Free on-site
  • Scrub Color: Any color (provided for OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child)
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2230 - $2390

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred; 1 year accepted if from high-risk/high-census L&D unit
  • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Must have a vehicle for travel between healthcare facilities
  • Ability to float to sister hospitals as needed
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and postpartum patients in a 14-bed LDRP unit
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and vaginal births
  • Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and other equipment
  • Administer medications and therapies, including magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and blood products
  • Perform newborn assessments, resuscitation, and support breastfeeding/lactation
  • Educate parents on newborn care, discharge instructions, and car seat safety
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
  • Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as required based on census and skillset
  • Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage
