Join Optum as a Referral Coordinator and play a crucial role in connecting members with necessary healthcare services. You'll manage referrals and support clinical staff in a dynamic environment dedicated to improving health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage administrative intake of members
Work with hospitals, clinics, and facilities to manage service requests
Process incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations
Assist clinical staff with documents and triage cases for review
Handle resolution and inquiries from members and providers
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
HS Diploma / GED (or higher)
2+ years of customer service experience
2+ years of medical office experience
1+ years of experience processing referrals
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
Experience working in a call center
A clerical or administrative support background
Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
