Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates directly with patients and/or families to complete the registration process
  • Utilizes computer systems to enter and verify patient data
  • Gathers necessary clinical information and processes referrals
  • Verifies insurance coverage and creates price estimates
  • Collects patient co-pays and conducts financial obligation conversations
  • Identifies outstanding balances from previous visits
  • Collects data for scheduling appointments post-discharge
  • Responds to inquiries from patients and caregivers compassionately
  • Generates, reviews, and analyzes patient data reports
  • Maintains knowledge of registration requirements across departments

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience in a hospital, office setting, customer service setting, or phone support setting
  • Ability to work any shift between the hours of 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM as assigned based on business needs, including the flexibility to work occasional weekends
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with using Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department, Physician’s Office, or any medical setting
  • Experience in insurance reimbursement and financial verification
  • Experience in requesting and processing financial payments
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of insurance policies and procedures
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial payments
