Job Description
As a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist at ECHN, you will provide essential treatments to patients, evaluating their functions and applying appropriate therapies to improve or restore their abilities. Additionally, you will play a key role in interdisciplinary education and community outreach, contributing to the health and well-being of the population served.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient symptoms and medical status
Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
Educates patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities
Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment
Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
Fosters interdepartmental communication regarding patient care
Supervises at least one affiliated student per year
Participates in continuing education courses
Attends departmental in-services or community in-services
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Holds or is eligible for current Connecticut license
Is eligible or has a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
Must have a valid driver's license for occasional travel between ECHN business sites
