Job Description

Join Optum as a Nurse Training Development Specialist, where you'll develop and implement training programs that enhance patient care and staff competency. This role offers the opportunity to impact healthcare delivery while collaborating across departments and supporting organizational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical and non-clinical training programs
  • Deliver education sessions and validate skills
  • Support organizational initiatives to improve healthcare delivery
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training
  • Conduct clinical skills assessments for nurses and medical assistants
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop education sessions
  • Document findings and review with leadership

Required Qualifications

  • College degree in healthcare, information systems, or related field
  • RN or LPN/LVN license
  • IV Certification for LPN/LVN or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare provider and/or ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • 3+ years of experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting
  • 1+ years of experience as a clinical trainer or educator
  • Ability to travel throughout the geographic market as needed
  • Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to clients with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency
