The Postdoctoral Scientist at Cedars-Sinai's Stripp/Yao Labs conducts advanced research on lung regeneration, utilizing mouse models and human lung tissue to uncover mechanisms of lung maintenance and repair. Working under the guidance of Principal Investigators, the role involves designing experiments, analyzing data, maintaining equipment, and contributing to scientific publications. The objective is to develop regenerative medicine approaches that improve treatment for lung disease patients.
Are you looking to contribute to groundbreaking research? We invite you to consider this great career opportunity!
Cedars-Sinai is an international leader in biomedical research, we translate discoveries into successful treatments with global impact.
Principal Investigators, Dr. Barry Stripp, PhD and Dr. Changfu Yao, PhD are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join their research labs!
The Stripp and Yao laboratories constitute the Lung Regeneration group at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and seek to understand basic mechanisms of lung maintenance, how this is disrupted in disease and to develop regenerative medicine approaches that will restore structure and function to damaged lung tissue. The laboratories couple the genetic tractability of mouse models with studies using human lung tissue to identify stem/progenitor cells and to understand how they are regulated under normal or injured/diseased states. The long-term goal is to exploit this newly acquired knowledge to improve the care of patients with lung disease.
About the Role
Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, the Postdoctoral Scientist will perform routine and complex procedures throughout training period. The incumbent may develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. The team member analyzes and interprets data, may assist in preparation of grant proposals, and participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. This position is not responsible for generating grant funds.
