Key Responsibilities
Craft experiments for cloud or in-house quantum systems and report findings
Support existing programs by building noise models of quantum systems and data analysis
Collaborate with APL staff to identify challenges with quantum solutions
Support ongoing programs in quantum information science for quantum characterization and error correction strategies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
1+ year experience with quantum technologies such as solid-state quantum computing
Strong desire to work in an interdisciplinary, applied science environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to occasionally travel to sponsor sites, conferences and workshops
Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Hands-on experimental experience with solid-state qubit operation
Experience with high-performance computing and physics-based modeling
Record of significant contributions on collaborative projects
Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance
