Job Description
Join ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to support a dedicated team providing vital veterinary care to underserved communities. Lead and mentor fellow veterinarians while ensuring the highest quality of care for pets. Enjoy a fulfilling work culture focused on animal welfare and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Foster a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and approximately 30-40 spay/neuter procedures per clinic day
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Support internal ASPCA departments with medical consultations as needed
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
