Key Responsibilities
Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations
Facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel
Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances
Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the U.S.
Preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Age under 40 (some exceptions apply)
Specialized experience or education equivalent to GS-9 grade level
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher
LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university
Spanish language skills (for certain locations)
