Key Responsibilities
Responsible for key accounts payable processes and controls
Ownership of expenditure approval workflow maintenance
Review and approve vendor additions/changes and vouchers prior to payment
Conduct periodic monitoring for compliance with departmental policies
Ensure timely preparation of audit deliverables
Ensure compliance with regulations and year-end reporting requirements
Action inquiries and informational requests of varying complexity
Participate as subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams
Provide support to the Controllers and Financial Planning & Analysis groups
Lead departmental projects and initiatives
Support maintenance and reporting of fixed assets
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Sound understanding of accounts payable and general ledger transaction flow
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills
Detail-oriented
Strong ownership and follow-through skills
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification (CPA, CMA)
Insurance industry experience
Professional work experience as an Accountant in a mid-to-large corporate environment
