Job Description
The Physician Assistant for the Adult Oncology Consult Service at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will collaborate with attending physicians in managing solid tumor oncology patients. Responsibilities include responding to consult requests, facilitating patient care, and ensuring effective communication among the healthcare team. Key Responsibilities
Respond to consult pager during consult hours
Complete and staff requested consults with appropriate Oncology Attending
Obtain and present patient medical data
Examine patients and provide recommendations for new cancer diagnoses
Facilitate patient and family decision making regarding treatment
Maintain communication with patients, families, and the inpatient team
Follow up on pending pathology and testing after patient discharge
Assist with navigation and establishment of care for ambulatory consults
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
NCCPA Certified
Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts
Current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses
100 hours of CME every 2 years
2+ years of experience in medical oncology practice
