Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures and components
Cut, fit, and weld metal parts
Inspect for quality and coordinate with welders and other trades
Notify foreman or supervisor of safety and/or structural issues
Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated structural steel plates
Move parts into position using hoists or cranes
Remove high spots and cut bevels as necessary
Consult with foreman regarding installation or repair problems
Attend safety meetings
Required Qualifications
Must have or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card
Minimum one year experience as a structural fitter
Ability to perform simple paperwork for forms and logs
Good judgment skills and work initiative
Understanding of company Quality, Environmental & Safety manual and procedures
