Performance Responsibilities

  • Conducting assessments to identify speech and language disorders and completing required reports regarding the assessments.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans to address identified speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Providing direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Maintaining ongoing student performance data to monitor and document student progress.
  • Attending PPT meetings.
  • Consulting with school teams to assist in meeting the needs of specific students.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in speech and language pathology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of high tech and low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices or systems.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to administer a variety of diagnostic assessments.
  • Knowledge of data collection systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with school staff, district representatives, students, and parents.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure (061 and Public Health license) and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP).
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
