Performance Responsibilities
- Conducting assessments to identify speech and language disorders and completing required reports regarding the assessments.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans to address identified speech and language disorders.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Providing direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
- Maintaining ongoing student performance data to monitor and document student progress.
- Attending PPT meetings.
- Consulting with school teams to assist in meeting the needs of specific students.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in speech and language pathology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of high tech and low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices or systems.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
- Ability to administer a variety of diagnostic assessments.
- Knowledge of data collection systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively with school staff, district representatives, students, and parents.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure (061 and Public Health license) and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP).
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
