Job Description
Lincoln Electric seeks a Control Systems Engineer to enhance manufacturing capabilities through innovative control systems design and support. Join a dynamic team committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence at our Cleveland headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for control systems including hardware design, software design, design documentation, networking, and data acquisition
Work closely with the Plant Engineering, MES, IT, Maintenance, and Production teams
Collaborate with multiple Operations teams for continuous improvement project goals
Estimate time and cost for new projects
Review capital equipment proposals to ensure compliance with specifications
Provide on-site assistance troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
Reduce downtime on production equipment
Support network backup and device patching management process
Assist in management and inventory of control system assets
Improve system and maintenance performance
Review security vulnerabilities and request remediation
Compile data from connected devices for organizational use
Develop and apply standards for control systems hardware and software
Solve complex problems and take new perspectives
Work independently with minimal guidance
Lead projects or project steps within broader projects
Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues
Assume additional responsibilities to support company strategy
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
5 years professional experience
Experience with automation hardware and software platforms, including PLC and HMI
Experience with AutoCAD
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, 70E, NFPA 79, and other technical codes
Ability to support and troubleshoot industrial equipment
Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
Ability to handle a variety of assignment and changing priorities
Work effectively with employees on all levels of the organization
Provide excellent written and oral communications
