Position Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director and/or Laboratory Manager, performs moderate and high complexity laboratory analysis and assumes responsibility for problem solving, teaching, systems control and limited supervision. Collects arterial, venous, and capillary blood specimens from patients. Performs drug screen collection, routine clerical duties, and performs simple point-of -care testing. Must maintain a cooperative working relationship with patients, patients’ families, medical staff, interdepartmental and intradepartmental personnel.
Position Requirements
· Minimum of Associate Degree in Medical Technology
· Phlebotomy skills for wide range of patient ages is preferred.
· Typing skills and experience with computer systems is preferred.
· Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
· Registration in a recognized national certification is highly recommended.
