Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician, where you'll ensure the efficiency of our outside plant facilities. Your role involves installing and maintaining various types of cables and hardware while working collaboratively to support America's most reliable network.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, submarine, and buried cables
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching hardware
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating company motor vehicles to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
