Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Pediatric Cardiovascular Unit (PCVCU) with a PICU setting. This role involves caring for pediatric patients with postoperative, surgical, medical, and cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong PICU experience and the ability to read their own cardiac strips. This is a traveler-friendly unit known for frequent extensions.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a cardiovascular/PICU environment.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions; interpret cardiac strips independently.
  • Manage care for postoperative, cardiac, and critical pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Follow unit policies, documentation standards, and EPIC charting workflows.
  • Float to PICU as needed.
  • Comply with weekend and holiday scheduling requirements.
  • Maintain a positive, child-friendly approach in a high-acuity setting.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or Pediatric Cardiovascular experience required.
  • Must be able to read cardiac/tele strips (no monitor tech support).
  • Experience with postop, surgical, medical, and cardiac pediatric patients.
Requirements
  • Active RN license (eligible for submission).
  • Certifications: BLS, PALS required.
  • BSN not required.
  • Must be comfortable floating to PICU when needed.
  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, and holidays.
  • Seal blue scrubs with pediatric-friendly scrub top required for dress code.
  • Orientation provided on unit.
