ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Floating: Required to float within discipline across local campuses

ICU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU, Med Surg, or Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or Illinois
• Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Proficient in administering critical care medications (bipap, insulin, levophed, heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, nitro, dobutamine, propofol)
• Ability to float within the same discipline as needed
• Taxable address must be outside 50 miles from the facility (required for travel nursing jobs)
• Submission of updated resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and at least one supervisory reference
• Proof of taxable address (driver’s license, utility bill, lease/rental agreement, mortgage statement, insurance statement, voter registration, bank statement, auto insurance, or tax return)

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in ICU, Med Surg, and Telemetry units
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Administer and monitor critical care medications and therapies
• Float to other units within the same discipline as needed
• Accurately document patient care and progress in the EPIC EMR system
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Work every other weekend and fulfill holiday requirements as assigned
