Job Summary

The Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Neuro plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while ensuring compliance with established standards and hospital policies. This position involves direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process and requires strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and obtain accurate medical histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and physician directives.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and response to treatment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to coordinate care.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Uphold hospital standards of safety, infection control, and quality improvement.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system (EPIC).
  • Provide compassionate and respectful care in alignment with the organization’s mission and core values.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Hampshire (must be current and in good standing).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • AHA - BLS,ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification recommended.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg or Step-Down experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work every other weekend and during holidays as required.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR preferred.
