Job Description

Join Cargill's team as an Electrician B and contribute to building a sustainable future. In this full-time role, you will install and maintain electrical equipment, ensuring operational efficiency in our protein and salt business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining equipment
  • Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan layout of equipment
  • Determine feasibility of using standardized equipment and develop specifications
  • Work with voltage levels up to 480, 4160. Wire Variable Frequency Drives
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation procedures
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation
  • Advise management on hazardous equipment operation
  • Maintain equipment logs recording performance problems and repairs
  • Repair, install and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components
  • Install coaxial or fiber optic cable for telecommunications
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills including being able to enter and retrieve data
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience working with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment
  • Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Must be willing and able to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor and indoor plant environment
  • Must have very good time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Install conduit and pull wire
  • Have a strong commitment to safety
  • Must have adequate transportation
  • Craftspeople in this position will use multiple tools such as multi-meter, voltmeter, and safety equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience using electrical test equipment to perform analysis and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
  • A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
