Job Description

Hourly Pay Range: $29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position: OB Technician - Labor and Delivery Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL Hourly, 12 hours/week Required Travel: No Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for women of childbearing age and their newborn. Performs the duties of scrub technician providing the surgeon with correct instruments and equipment maintaining the integrity of the sterile field. Cleans operating room, instruments, equipment according to established procedures and restocks room for the next procedure on a timely basis. Disposes of hazardous medical wastes according to OSHA standards. Selects and prepares supplies, equipment, and instruments for surgical procedures. Assists patients with personal care needs such as bathing, use of bedpan, positioning, and answering call light. Performs procedures such as thermal applications, perineal care, emptying of foley bags, and bed making. Obtains, point of care testing, scaled weights, and reports obvious abnormalities to the appropriate RN. Previous patient care experience or completion of one nursing clinical rotation preferred.
