Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals
Ensure high-quality, low-stress patient care
Lead, coach, and manage a team of behavior experts
Identify and lead research projects related to animal behavior
Maintain communication with veterinary and behavior colleagues
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and best practices
Required Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in animal behavior or related discipline
DVM degree from AVMA accredited veterinary school (for Veterinary Behaviorist candidates)
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to work well within a team
Fear Free certification within 6 months of hire
Low Stress Handling – Silver certification or ability to obtain within first year
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in shelters
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
