Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team providing critical veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll foster a positive work environment while ensuring high-quality treatment for pets and mentoring fellow veterinarians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and developmental coaching
  • Perform pre-surgery physical exams and high-quality spay/neuter surgeries
  • Provide compassionate preventive care to patients in underserved areas
  • Participate in administrative duties such as scheduling and meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
