Job Description

Join Beacon Brook Center for Health & Rehabilitation as an MDS Director, where you will lead MDS assessments to develop personalized care plans while ensuring compliance and optimal reimbursement. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the MDS program for compliance and accuracy
  • Determine Patient Driven Payment Method (PDPM) and associated expenses
  • Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores for risks affecting reimbursement
  • Train, mentor and/or manage MDS Coordinators
  • Coordinate comprehensive resident assessments and care planning
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide insights and education to facility staff
  • Track, trend, and analyze assessment data for compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in nursing care

Required Qualifications

  • Valid state RN license preferred
  • Direct care in a long-term care setting and/or MDS Coordinator experience required
  • Proficient in state and federal regulations governing the MDS and billing process
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid and Medicare requirements
  • Deadline driven, detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or certification preferred
