Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights
Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of safe, high-quality care by following the established nursing plan and the Select Medical Core Values. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new orientees while ensuring that all care aligns with focus on patient and employee safety, quality outcomes, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a comprehensive nursing assessment within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and collaborate with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to establish care goals.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly according to hospital policy.
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
- Educate patients, families, and significant others, focusing on preparation for discharge from day one.
- Communicate significant changes in patient status promptly to physicians and the charge nurse to ensure continuity and safety of care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and provide supervision, direction, and training to ancillary staff.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment, demonstrating awareness of safe patient handling, infectious disease control, fall prevention, and materials handling.
- Actively participate in team building and foster a positive work environment.
- Assume charge responsibilities when assigned, and identify personal and professional growth opportunities through continuing education.
Requirements:
- BLS Certification – Required prior to first shift
- ACLS Certification – Required prior to first shift (CIRH only)
- Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience
