Job Description

Join Beacon Brook Center for Health & Rehabilitation as an MDS Director (RN) to lead MDS assessments and ensure exceptional resident care. Your expertise will drive compliance and optimize reimbursement while making a difference in the lives of our aging guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for personalized resident care plans
  • Ensure revenue integrity and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Lead and oversee the MDS program, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores for risk assessment
  • Train, mentor, and manage MDS Coordinators
  • Coordinate resident assessments and care planning
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for accurate data collection
  • Provide ongoing education to facility staff and leaders
  • Analyze assessment data for compliance and optimization opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Valid state RN license preferred
  • Direct care in a long-term care setting and/or MDS Coordinator experience required
  • Proficient in state and federal regulations governing MDS and billing process
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid and Medicare requirements
  • Deadline driven, exceptionally detail-oriented, strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or certification preferred
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and chronically ill
