Work Experience: - Under direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, carries out treatment plan developed by Physical Therapist in accordance with physician’s orders.
- Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
- Provides supervised treatments indicated by the Physical Therapist, using such modalities as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot and/or cold packs.
- Assists with patient transfers, exercise, walking, etc.
- Provides therapist with input concerning effectiveness of treatments, adjustments needed to the treatment plan to accommodate patient, adverse reactions, etc.
- Makes appropriate documentation in chart concerning progress and cosigned by licensed Physical Therapist.
- Administers motorized traction to relieve neck and back pain.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment and procedures used in physical therapy.
- Knowledge of equipment and the ability to adjust equipment to suite patient’s needs.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and excellent communication skills in guiding patients to assume responsibility for their treatment and development.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Knowledge of computers
Education: Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
License: Current license from the State of Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Eligible to sit for state license and must obtain license within six (6) months of hire.
Certifications: BLS/CPR Certification.
