Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, or acute care nursing role
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs in a PCU setting
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families by providing clear instructions and support
• Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment
• Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records
• Promote a positive, safe, and healthy workplace environment through professional communication
• Participate in ongoing education and meet core measure requirements for patient care
