Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will support a dedicated team providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. In this leadership role, you will ensure high-quality patient care while fostering a collaborative workplace culture. Your expertise will directly impact the welfare of animals and their owners in a meaningful way.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff veterinarians and per diems for optimal coverage
Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
