The Director of Operations will oversee the management of the agency's real estate portfolio across New York City, ensuring efficient and safe property operations. This role involves leading maintenance teams, coordinating with vendors, and enforcing compliance with safety standards, all while driving continuous improvement through performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of agency properties across NYC boroughs
Manage area managers and maintenance teams
Monitor and ensure response to sysaid tickets
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors
Ensure compliance with life safety standards and regulations
Develop performance metrics for operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years working as a tradesperson
At least 5 years of managerial experience
Verifiable experience with technical building systems
Proven understanding of maintenance operations and vendor management
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facility Management or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hybrid role with both field and office responsibilities
Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
FDNY licenses such as an F80
Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
