Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Lead a team of nine behavior experts
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Collaborate on research projects to advance animal behavior and cruelty prevention
Communicate effectively with team members and external partners
Required Qualifications
3+ years' experience in people management
Master's or PhD degree in animal behavior or related discipline (for non-veterinary candidates)
DVM degree from AVMA accredited veterinary school with NY State veterinary license (for veterinary candidates)
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfort with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in shelters
Experience developing/overseeing research projects
Interest in writing scientific publications
