Shift Type: Days (8 hours) – 7:00 AM start
Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Current MA RN license – required
BLS – required
CNOR – preferred
Successful completion of RNFA-specific education and supervised clinical component – required
Experience:
2–3 years of operating room RN experience – required
Demonstrated clinical competency as an RNFA including hemostasis techniques, suturing, and retracting – required
Strong knowledge base in specialty services, effective communication, problem solving, and commitment to quality patient care
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Administers nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, MA state regulations, and ANA standards of practice
Serves as role model practitioner and maintains compliance with AORN, OSHA, Joint Commission, DPH, and other regulatory bodies
Provides safe and effective surgical assistance, including tissue handling, dissection, cutting, suturing, and retraction techniques
Demonstrates proficiency in knot-tying and selection of suture material/technique
Advocates for patients, ensuring dignity, confidentiality, and autonomy
Collaborates within the OR team, supporting efficiency and patient flow
Participates in unit-level quality assurance and improvement initiatives
Maintains professional, courteous interactions with patients, families, and staff
Submission Requirements:
MA RN License – required
BLS (AHA) – required
CNOR – preferred
RNFA education & supervised clinical component – required
2–3 years OR RN experience – required
Evidence of RNFA competency – required
