Join the Canine Annex for Recovery and Enrichment as the Director of Veterinary Services, where you'll utilize your veterinary skills to provide vital care to dogs affected by cruelty and neglect. Enjoy a supportive work environment with a focus on both animal welfare and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to at-risk animals
Manage medical cases and oversee daily medical care
Lead veterinary rounds and team meetings
Collaborate with partner departments
Maintain medical records and ensure compliance with protocols
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
3+ years in GP, specialty, and/or shelter setting
NY State veterinary license
Fear Free Shelter certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in shelters
