Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Quincy, IL

• Location: Quincy, Illinois 62301 – Ideal for RNs seeking Illinois travel nursing jobs in a welcoming community
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Surgical/Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit (48 beds across two buildings)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7am start), 3 shifts/week, 36 hours guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990 - $2130
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & holiday rotation with core nursing staff
• Orientation: 1 full 12-hour shift on unit, plus general orientation (12-14 hours)
• Dress Code: Black scrubs
• Charting System: Allscripts - Sunrise EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state (required for travel nurse jobs in Illinois)
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or surgical nursing experience, including total joint care
• Proficiency with PCA pumps, reversal agents (Narcan), sepsis management, TPN/Lipids, and narcotic administration
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips (Draeger monitors) and respond to cardiac changes
• Experience in a primary care nursing model and fast-paced clinical settings

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for diverse surgical and medical cases (neuro, orthopedic, abdominal, vascular, dialysis, pain management, sepsis, and more)
• Manage and titrate Heparin drips per hospital protocol
• Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, virtual admission/discharge nurses, and respiratory therapists
• Interpret telemetry strips and act promptly to changes in patient condition
• Float to similar units as needed (no patient load when floated to higher acuity units)
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the healthcare team
• Document all nursing care using Allscripts - Sunrise EMR system
