Job Description

Chuy's is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee a high-volume scratch kitchen. The role involves managing staffing, food inventory, food production, and maintaining cleanliness while fostering a fun and diverse team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage food cost, waste, staffing, HACCP, production, and cleanliness
  • Supervise and partner with the Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Ensure proper staffing and training of kitchen positions
  • Maintain food quality and safety procedures
  • Oversee inventory and ordering
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is functioning properly
  • Create schedules for kitchen staff
  • Work within budget to minimize costs and waste

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant
  • Strong culinary knowledge
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Financial understanding of sales, costs of sales and labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Familiarity with a variety of kitchen equipment and its maintenance
  • Willingness to run occasional front of house shifts
