The Senior Master Social Worker provides counseling and assistance to patients and their families to address personal and environmental challenges affecting health outcomes. They collaborate as part of multidisciplinary health and mental health teams and perform supervisory duties. This role requires a Master's degree in Social Work and appropriate state licensure, with experience preferred in health or mental health settings.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Counsels and assists patients and their families with personal and environmental difficulties which predispose illness or hinder the patient from receiving maximum benefits from medical care. Acts as a therapeutic agent as a member of multidisciplinary health and mental health teams. Performs supervisory activities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required. Experience in a health or mental health care setting is preferred.
LICENSURE
Current licensure from the Texas Department of Human Services is required.
