Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support a dedicated team in delivering high-quality care to underserved communities. This role combines leadership with hands-on veterinary practice, ensuring every patient receives compassionate care while contributing to the mission of improving animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching
Perform pre-surgery examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate veterinary care and diagnostics
Participate in veterinary medicine rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
