Work Week Hours: 36 hours/week
Compensation: Weekly Gross – $2,362
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department provides comprehensive and immediate care to patients with urgent and critical health needs. The ED RN is responsible for triaging, stabilizing, and treating patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment, while collaborating closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage incoming patients based on acuity and clinical presentation.
- Provide emergency nursing care including assessments, interventions, and stabilization.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor vital signs, recognize signs of deterioration, and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Operate emergency equipment such as defibrillators, ventilators, and monitors.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR systems (CPSI Thrive, T-System, EPIC).
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment and discharge plans.
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain a safe and controlled environment in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Support and guide less experienced staff while contributing to a team-oriented workplace.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Multistate RN License or Maine RN License.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (required).
- Strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in critical situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with emergency care protocols and trauma patients.
- Familiarity with EMR systems (CPSI Thrive, T-System, EPIC).
