Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to support animal well-being and community service. You'll lead a dedicated team while providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. This role excels in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring the best outcomes for pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in medical protocols and spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture and foster teamwork
Provide compassionate veterinary care and perform surgical procedures
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Participate in veterinary medicine meetings and present on cases
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
