Key Responsibilities
Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws
Facilitating legitimate trade and travel
Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances
Determining admissibility of individuals for entry
Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband
Required Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Must be referred before your 40th birthday (some exceptions apply)
Specialized experience equivalent to GS-7 grade level
Detaining suspected violators and arresting using proper methods
Enforcing laws and regulations related to importing/exporting
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis
Conducting law enforcement interviews
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher
LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited institution
Combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education
