Job Description:
Join Lee Health Health Park Medical Center as a Travel RN in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with Stroke specialty. This comprehensive PCU setting offers an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses looking to advance their careers in a dynamic hospital environment. The role involves providing advanced patient care for adult patients with complex medical needs, including stroke cases, utilizing your acute care skills and clinical expertise. You will be responsible for managing patient assessments, administering medications, implementing care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. EMR documentation is managed through Epic. Prior travel nursing experience is essential to succeed in this fast-paced setting, along with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.

What You Bring:

• Minimum of 3+ years of recent PCU or step-down experience , with a focus on stroke care or similar specialties.
• Proven ability to manage a high-acuity patient load with confidence and precision.
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to efficiently navigate and document in Epic EMR system.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred.
• Additional certifications in stroke or critical care are a plus.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in PCU if degree accreditation is not listed on profile.
• Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred, demonstrating adaptability in diverse hospital settings.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Valid Floridian or Compact Nursing License (recent Nursys verification required on profile).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification must be current and from an approved provider.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification required and must be current.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Certification required to assess stroke severity accurately.
