Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Location: Sumner Regional Medical Center – Gallatin, TN Type: Travel Assignment
Overview
Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring medical/surgical support with continuous cardiac monitoring, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
- Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs and telemetry readings, and document care accurately
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery goals, and discharge instructions
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee (or compact license eligible)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical/surgical or telemetry nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and cardiac monitoring skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records systems; Meditech experience preferred
- Required Education: Associates of Nursing
