Job Description
Join Cargill as a Refrigeration Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency of refrigeration and HVAC systems. With a commitment to safety and sustainability, you'll contribute to providing high-quality food products in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure Refrigeration, Boiler, and HVAC systems are operating properly through monitoring, PMs, and repairs (70%)
Maintain Boiler and refrigeration water chemistry through testing (10%)
Participate in activities with the ammonia PSM program (10%)
Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties assigned (10%)
Operate heavy machinery and computer programs as needed
Conduct daily set-up of area and troubleshoot
Ensure safety, food safety, and quality
Maintain cleanliness and a safe working environment
Required Qualifications
Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
18 years or older
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Technical degree in HVAC or ammonia refrigeration or equivalent work experience
Basic math skills
Knowledge of basic tools and maintenance related subjects
Willingness to participate on various teams such as HAZMAT
Knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, and industrial/electronic controls
Demonstrated troubleshooting effectiveness
Strong ability to identify priorities and adjust as needed
Strong ability to work independently, highly self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Computer skills
RETA/IIAR training and certification
Previous experience with regulated PSM programs
Previous ammonia refrigeration experience
Electrical or mechanical experience
