Job Description

Join Providence Alaska Medical Center as a Diabetes Educator, where you'll provide essential diabetes education and glycemia management consultation to patients and healthcare providers. This impactful role allows you to lead staff development programs and utilize diabetes-related technology to enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient glycemia management consultation and diabetes education
  • Lead staff development programs
  • Ensure culturally and age-appropriate diabetes management education
  • Support diabetes-related technology including continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps
  • Deliver personalized care and customized education based on patient's needs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health related field of Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Alaska Dietitian License or Alaska Nutritionist License within 6 months of hire
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) upon hire
  • CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Health related field of Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Coursework/Training - Health Educator
  • 3 years experience providing diabetes education in a clinical setting
  • 3 years experience as a healthcare professional in a hospital inpatient setting
