Duties:

  • Leadership of Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) services, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Strategic planning and oversight of clinical programs including Geriatrics, Hospice, Palliative care, and Community Living Centers.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enhance geriatric care and address the needs of aging veterans.
  • Implementation of policies, protocols, and standards in line with the VHA mission.
  • Supervision, mentorship, and training of medical staff and healthcare professionals within the GEC service line.
  • Improvement of healthcare outcomes through quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
  • Representing the GEC service on various committees and working groups.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Board certification in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the United States.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical practice, with experience in geriatrics and extended care.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
