Job Description

Join Cargill as a Licensed Electrician and contribute to a sustainable future while working in a dynamic team environment. This full-time role involves installing and maintaining electrical systems in a plant setting, ensuring high-quality food production for a wide range of customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate with other workers for equipment installation and maintenance
  • Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers for equipment layout and problem resolution
  • Study blueprints and schematics to determine installation procedures
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect industrial equipment for proper assembly and defects
  • Maintain equipment logs and communicate with management regarding equipment hazards
  • Work extended shifts and be flexible with changing priorities
  • Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe work environment

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in extreme heat or cold
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and necessary mathematical knowledge
  • Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Must be willing and able to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Must have very good time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience using electrical test equipment for analysis and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude to work from blueprints and maintenance manuals
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
  • A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
