The Patient Safety Assistant Float provides critical monitoring and support for patients across various departments, ensuring their safety and comfort. This part-time role involves close collaboration with nursing staff to facilitate a therapeutic environment for patients in need of constant observation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide constant observation and support to patients requiring close monitoring
Conduct room checks to remove potential harmful items
Assist with activities of daily living such as ambulation and toileting
Document observations and interventions in the medical record
Follow safety measures and interventions as instructed
Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification prior to completion of orientation
Code Gray or AVADE Training within 3 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Current Licensure/Certification as a CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant
Completion of training program: EMT, CNA, MA, Paramedic, RN Students: completion of 1st quarter/semester of nursing school
