Job Description
Join PG&E as a Senior Power Generation Inspector, where you'll oversee critical safety and quality inspections in hydroelectric generation projects. Your expertise will ensure compliance with safety standards while managing contractor performance and enhancing collaboration in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field inspections for internal and contractor jobs within the PG&E Hydroelectric Generation System
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Oversee contractor safety and enforce safety procedures
Conduct worksite safety orientations and Job Safety Analyses
Coordinate corrective actions to abate hazards
Ensure environmental compliance for air quality monitoring
Review and interpret executed contracts
Communicate job progress and risks to stakeholders
Maintain detailed field documentation
Perform Qualified Electrical Observer duties
Conduct field testing on civil infrastructure
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid California Class C driver's license
6 years of journeyman or equivalent experience in the construction industry
Ability to stand/walk for long hours on uneven terrain
Comfortable living/working in remote areas
Travel within PG&E’s Power Generation Hydro service territory, up to 100% of time
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA Safety Associate Certificate
American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certification for Field Concrete Testing
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
CPR/First Aid certified
Manufacturer certification for Transportation and Use of Portable Nuclear Gauge
Experience leading a work crew
Experience in quality assurance, lab testing, and/or hydro generation industry
Experience with field testing on civil infrastructures
Knowledge of construction and contractor safety regulations
Knowledge of PG&E and industry-specific electrical standards
