Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll support both new and experienced veterinarians, ensuring exceptional care for pets while fostering a positive work culture. Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
Partner with colleagues to achieve ASPCA’s impact goals
Schedule CM staff veterinarians and per diems for optimal coverage
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
